The plant’s demand for warmth is determined by the entire sum of temperatures during the period from bud blossoming to berry ripening.

Growing grasses is interesting as it requires the gardener to continuously do his own research and analytical work. Even if the winegrower is totally armed with theoretical expertise, creativity is needed of him. The evolution of the blossom is subject to particular principles, but in each single area, literally in every garden, much more so in greenhouses, the exact plants develop otherwise, requiring human operating techniques. Take, for instance, the root system.

In places that are dry, on clay, stony and rubbly soils, the root penetrates to a depth of about 4 m. Where the subsoil is constantly moist, the root lobes expand wide and are situated to a thickness of up to 1 m.

The biological phases of the plant also has to be taken into consideration. To understand the vineyard and strategy work, you need to have some concept of the yearly cycle of vine development.

Among the numerous agricultural techniques, the trench approach can be considered preferable. With this approach, nutrients are placed on the soil at highest area and thickness. The origins of these blossoms are provided with fertile soil for 30-50 years – practically the entire life cycle.

Planting order:

  • The best soil layers are removed and put individually.
  • A trench about 60 cm deep will be dug.
  • In the very bottom put a drainage layer of shattered rock – about 10 cm thick.
  • On 1/3 of this thickness in a hole set a nutrient substrate – peat (3 parts), sand (2 components ) and subsoil loam (7 parts).
  • Fill in the Rest of the substrate.

Grape plants find themselves in a nutritious environment. Their root system may develop downward and sideways, and from above it’s protected with a warm loose cushion.
